So here’s the scoop people DeadlineHollywood is telling us that it looks like Tobey Maguire will be reprising his role as Peter Parker inSpider-Man 4, and along with him Sam Raimi will continue directing the film. Kirsten Dunst is still unconfirmed to keep her part as Mary Jane. It also looks like these idiots will be filming Spider-Man 4 and 5 back to back!
It’s time to end once and for all the rampant speculation. Sony doesn’t want any info to leak but I’m told that both star Tobey Maguire and director Sam Raimi will be returning to make Zodiac screenwriter Jamie Vanderbilt’s script of Spider-Man 4. Sources tell me that Sony has recently locked in both veterans of Spider-Man1 through 3. And I do mean recently because just a few weeks ago sources told me that Sony Pictures co-chairman Amy Pascal was openly discussing Tobey’s potential replacements [A topic we covered back in May] with various Hollywood agents because Tobey was hanging tough about a deal. “She was looking around to cover herself because Sony wanted him badly and Tobey wasn’t sure he wanted to do it,” an insider explained to me. There’s no deal yet for Kirsten Dunst but Mary Jane Watson will be in the movie again. I’m told Sony “would never recast her” despite her rehab problems. But expect another gal part, too.
So on top of all that news, here’s a few tid-bits on the Venom spin-off. Apparently Topher Grace is still the front runner for Eddie Brock because the has that “Boy next door look”….stupid, very very stupid.
And Sony has hired a pair of screenwriters to get going on the Spider-Man spinoff movie Venom. Given that comic book artist/writer and action figure maker, Todd McFarlane, who is one of the creators of the Marvel villain, doesn’t think a Venom movie could do well with a villain as the central character, my sources think Sony should let Topher Grace, even though he was blown up at the end of Spider-Man 3 (yet a portion of the Venom costume survived), stay in the role because the like able actor could be a a sympathetic evildoer.
Are you freakin kidding me!?! what is this crap?! The third movie was an absolute disgrace to superhero movies and they are actually trying to make a fourth AND fifth movie?! Money hungry fools is what Sony is, trying to milk the franchise for everything its worth eh? Who could they possibly use for the villain? I mean seriously? They killed off the best one in the last damn movie!!! I would assume someone like the Lizard or maybe try and put carnage in this one (Doc Conners still had that tiny test sample in his lab from Spider-man 3). So who knows…will it suck? Yes…Yes it will.
Today we bring you a Film Grenade Exclusive Character Guide for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Due to the huge amount of characters in Transformers we have decided to make a small character guide for those of you who are either new to Transformers or those who just want to know more about the movie! Many of the characters roles in the new film are unknown, but here is what we now so far and don’t worry we will be updating this every time we get more news!
Autobots
Optimus Prime - blue, dark red Peterbilt 379EX
Optimus Prime is the Autobot leader who comes to Earth to destroy the All Spark in order to end the raging war between the Autobots and Decepticons. Optimus is probably the most famous Transformer mostly because he has been in every Transformers series. He will continue to have a large role in the new film.
Here we have some new images of the Corvette featured in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. The images just give another look up close at what the vette actually looks like. The car is awesome, I think it would be a great addition to the film. Now the mystery is….Decepticon? or Autobot? If you have any potential lead let us know in a comment below, and don’t forget to check out the behind the scenes video!
Thanks again to Latino Review we have the final piece of concept art for Halo: Fall of Reach. There is still no news on the legitimacy of these images but regardless us Halo fans need something to hold us over till these idiots actually start working on this movie. But one really big question I have is if this movie will actually be good. Most video game movies suck….bad, but there is a deep enriched story in the Halo universe so who knows. I guess we’ll have to settle for Max Payne for tight now.
Thanks to DVD-Forum we got a hold of a bunch of new James Bond Quantum of Solace Images. A lot of the images show the action packed nature of this new Bond film. It really seems like this might be a Bond film that sticks out in the series. It just seems more emotion driven, like the thought of 007 seeking vengeance on the death of his lover from the previous movie seems pretty exciting! what do you think of the images?
We just got a few new Harry Potterimages and they are looking pretty interesting. The first in High Res showing Draco maybe about to attack Harry or something…I never read the books. But The second one kind of made me laugh, they are all just sitting on the couch with cookies or something laughing about something. Again I never read but hey the pics look nice, what do you guys think?
Alright so its all in the title people. There might be a Guitar Hero movie… And its going to be directed by, yes you guessed it Brett Ratner. Ya, I don’t think so Brett. This is an awful idea! Here’s Bretts idea for the movies plot.
“It could be about a kid from a small town who dreams of being a rock star and he wins the ‘Guitar Hero’ competition. One of these dreams-[come-true] kind of concepts.”
The funny thing is that this isn’t a joke, Ratner actually wants to make this movie!
“I love ‘Guitar Hero’ and I think it’s a part of pop culture. I would love to do a ‘Guitar Hero’ movie, if Activision would ever let me. I’m trying to convince them, but why would you have a movie screw up such a huge franchise? Not that I would make a bad movie. So that would be cool, to do a ‘Guitar Hero’ movie. ”
He seems to really love Guitar Hero. I mean hes put in a few musci videos and seems to be incorporating it in a lot of his work. Regardless I think this is a bad idea and a waste of money. What do you guys think?
Here is the new official trailer for Fast and Furious. I’ve already expressed my disdain for this film and all like it. Its just a lame money maker using fast cars and hot chicks to rake in the cash. Lame. But either way they were bound to release a fourth one anyway. So heres the trailer for Fast and Furious starring Paul Walker and Vin Diesel.
Continuing the news on Shia Labeoufs hand injury, we see that Shia is back on the Transformers 2 set and we just showed a few images of his movie injury (HERE). So we know for sure they just wrote in his injury and we’ll see his hand in a sling for a while. Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman talked about the movie and how it will progress and how it will be even better than the last one below.
“You want to make a different movie, not just a repeat,” Orci said. “It’s a different kind of film that the last one. It’s not a disaster [movie] paradigm.”
“I think there’s an expectation that there will be a deeper mythology where the Transformers came from,” Kurtzman said. “The key is not to get so mired in the mythology that it can’t propel the movie forward. We just touched the tip of the iceberg.”
“A boy and his car was really the emotional thrust of the first movie,” Kurtzman said, “and we felt at the time that that made it a unique way into the story. We knew we couldn’t do the sequel until we had something as equally compelling for it.”

We just four awesome new Watchmen magazine covers images from Set Magazine. They are all great, giving us a close looks at the characters. The Rorschach(Top) cover is definitely my favorite. I just finished reading the comics and they were great. I really hope Fox doesn’t go through wit the lawsuit because this movie is going to be great!

Thanks once again to Latino Review for supllying the new image for Halo:Fall of Reach. This image looks like Mater Chief about to get owned by a bunch of covenant while a Pelican stubles over to save him. The image is probably thge climax of the movie and again looks great but there is no 100% that its real. What do you guys think though?
Here we have a look at the new teaser poster for Toy Story 3 and in a totally unrelated occurrence we have the new Poster for Che. The Toy Story 3 poster is pretty vague and only shows a few drawn pictures of Buzz Lightyear and Woody. The Che poster on the other hand is pretty vibrant and rebellious looking. I’m interested in seeing both films. Toy Story was probably one of my favorite Disney movies and I’m very excited that there will be a sequel!
A couple days ago we found some info on Film Junk (here) which said that the higher ups at Fox were very displeased with Dragonball and were planning on scrapping it. Well now we tell you that it is most likely a rumor.
The film was completed a while ago, and the reasons for moving the film’s release date from this summer to next spring was to insure that all of the needed special effects were completed. We have a source that is very close to the film. He/she says that the first edit is done, and that it has been shown to those “higher ups” at Fox and that they love the finished film. Our studio contact, who we aren’t allowed to name at the moment, worked on the production, and has seen the completed movie. Everyone involved seems to think they have a hit on their hands, and he even went on to say that it was “pretty darn awesome. There is certainly talk about a sequel. I have no doubt that it will happen. I’m sure that it will be a trilogy.”
If you are anxiously awaiting Dragonball, don’t be scared by these sudden rumors that the film is being scrapped or sent directly to home video. That is certainly not the case. Dragonball is still set for a April 3rd, 2009 release date.
Okay so now I’m more confused than ever! So first it was sort of a whatever movie, then my interest was peaked a bit when they said it was so bad it may be scrapped. Now they actually are saying its so good that sequels are already in the works! Now I really think I need to see this to believe it, hopefully we’ll see a trailer soon. What do you guys think now that Dragonball might just be good?!
So it basically looks like Superman is getting a full reboot and will be remade into a brand new movie. The reason being most likely due to the massive success of The Dark Knight. It sparked a light bulb in Warner Bros head. Because the Dark Knight was so dark, they believe that if they make their movies more dark it will create a better reaction from the viewers. So they are going to put a dark spin on the new Superman movie. I guess we’ll see how that goes.
Warner Bros. also put on hold plans for another movie starring multiple superheroes — known as “Batman vs. Superman” — after the $215 million “Superman Returns,” which had disappointing box-office returns, didn’t please executives. “‘Superman’ didn’t quite work as a film in the way that we wanted it to,” says Mr. Robinov. “It didn’t position the character the way he needed to be positioned.” “Had ‘Superman’ worked in 2006, we would have had a movie for Christmas of this year or 2009,” he adds. “But now the plan is just to reintroduce Superman without regard to a Batman and Superman movie at all.”
“>With “Batman vs. Superman” and “Justice League” stalled, Warner Bros. has quietly adopted Marvel’s model of releasing a single film for each character, and then using those movies and their sequels to build up to a multicharacter film. “Along those lines, we have been developing every DC character that we own,” Mr. Robinov says.
Like the recent Batman sequel — which has become the highest-grossing film of the year thus far — Mr. Robinov wants his next pack of superhero movies to be bathed in the same brooding tone as “The Dark Knight.” Creatively, he sees exploring the evil side to characters as the key to unlocking some of Warner Bros.’ DC properties. “We’re going to try to go dark to the extent that the characters allow it,” he says. That goes for the company’s Superman franchise as well.
The studio is set to announce its plans for future DC movies in the next month. For now though, it is focused on releasing four comic-book films in the next three years, including a third Batman film, a new film reintroducing Superman, and two movies focusing on other DC Comics characters. Movies featuring Green Lantern, Flash, Green Arrow, and Wonder Woman are all in active development.
It really can go both ways with Superman’s dark side. Its could either be a great decision and pull in a lot of money from fans and average movie goers alike…or it could be a terrible idea and once again ruin Supermans movie. What do you think? Would a tint of dark make Superman better or worse?
So It looks like Iron Mans director Jon Favreau is back on the job getting ready to give the worldIron Man 2 (Woooooo). So Justin Theroux will be writing the script for the new installment. He is also the one who wrote Tropic Thunder.
I just talked to Jon Favreau a bit ago, and he said that while there hasn’t been an formal announcement on the sequel to “Iron Man,” he’s begun developing it. “We’re working on it now,” he said, “which hasn’t been officially announced. It will be released in 2010.”
As the state’s budget crisis continues, Sacramento certainly has money on its mind, but it’s hardly star-struck when it comes to Hollywood and its problems with runaway production.
Nevertheless, “Iron Man” director Jon Favreau and Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger have become unexpected partners in a push to create tax breaks for film and television shows in an effort to keep their production in California, a political cause that has very little traction with state lawmakers and, to the governor’s chagrin, even less footing in celebrity fundraising circles.
There’s been a 40% decline in the number of film production days shot on location in Los Angeles since 1997, and the stampede east by the makers of high-profile projects is intensifying after New York Gov. David Paterson signed a bill in April delivering a lush new package of incentives.
So it looks like Iron Man 2 is finally on the way and is slated for release on April 30th, 2010. The first Iron Man was great and very faithful to the characters and parts of the story. I’m glad the original team is back and hopfully we will see a great sequel! What do you guys think of Iron Mans fast track to production?
