Today we bring you a Film Grenade Exclusive Rumor Character Guide for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Due to the huge amount of characters in Transformers we have decided to make a small character guide for those of you who are either new to Transformers or those who just want to know more about the movie! Many of the characters roles in the new film are unknown, but here is what we now so far and don’t worry we will be updating this every time we get more news! The guide is mostly based on rumors that we have heard during the production of the new film.

Autobots

Optimus Prime – blue, dark red Peterbilt 379EX


Optimus Prime is the Autobot leader who comes to Earth to destroy the All Spark in order to end the raging war between the Autobots and Decepticons. Optimus is probably the most famous Transformer mostly because he has been in every Transformers series. He will continue to have a large role in the new film.

Bumblebee – yellow 2009 Chevy Camaro


Bumblebee is Sams guardian and the first Transformer Sam meets. In the old show Bumblebee was a VW bug. In the film he is damaged early on and is unable to speak and must communicate through radio signals. Bumble bee was made silent in a decision to try and show the bond between Sam and Bumblebee was way beyond words. Bumblebee stands at about 17 ft.

Ironhide – black 2007 GMC Topkick C4500


Ironhide was not suppose to be in the original film, but he later replaced Arcee and made a main Autobot. Ironhide said to be Optimus Prime’s oldest friend and the teams weapons specialist . He is a tough soldier who has sustained many injuries in combat. He has a large scar surrounding his right eye, and before coming to Earth he had a broken ankle. Ironhide is about 22ft tall.

Ratchet - lime yellow 2008 Hummer H2


Ratchet is a Search and Rescue Hummer H2, he is also the medical officer for the Autobots. Ratchet believes the conflict with the Decepticons can be solved peacefully; without any violence. But he still carries out Optimus Prime’s orders, even if it means using of force. He has enhanced senses, as he reveals Sam’s desire to “mate” with Mikaela by sensing his pheromone levels by using his nose. According to many sources Ratchet has X-ray vision and has photo electric cells which allow him to produce a “chameleon” effect. Ratchet stands at about 19 ft tall.

Arcee – 3 pink, purple, blue custom bike made by RetroSBK


Arcee was originally planned for the first Transformers film but was another who just didn’t make the cut. Arcee is going to be made up of 3 different bikes that combine to make her. Arcee is also involved in the chase with a go-cart named Wheels / Wheelbot, and Stinger.

Update: So it is rumored that Arcee will be a love interest for Bumblee Bee, I didn’t know Transformers could love? But either way still good news!

Skids – green 2009 Chevy Beat
Mudflap – red 2009 Chevy Trax

Not much is known about these two Chevys yet, but we do know that these two might be “The Twins”. We do know that these two will be involved in a battle scene by a jail house alongside Bumblebee. It’s still rumored and up in the air but hopefully we will be able to fill you guys in as soon as possible.

SideSwipe - Chevy Corvette Stingray

Jetfire – black SR-71 Blackbird

This seems weird that Jetfire is a Decepticon because in the old shows he was always an Autobot. It looks like Sam uses something called the “Splinter” (which is possibly a tiny piece of the All Spark) to activate the SR-71, which transforms into Jetfire. But it still seems weird that he has a Decepticon logo, he is suppose to be an Autobot, but maybe he switched or switches sides?


Wheeljack - white 2009 Saab Aero-X (rumor)


Wheeljack is the scientist and warrior of the Autobots, he is always inventing new weapons and gadgets. Wheeljack was pitched for the original film but didn’t make the cut.

Jazz – hardtop Pontiac Solstice GXP (RUMOR)


First Lieutenant Jazz is a very happy carefree Autobot. Jazz is one of the smaller Autobots but is as feisty as the big ones, he is not afraid of a fight and that got him killed in the first film by Megatron. Rumor has it that Jazz will make a return in Transformers 2, maybe its a piece of the Alspark that revives him?

Decepticons

Starscream – gray F-22 Raptor


Starscream is Megatrons right hand man….. or so he thinks. Starscream will do anything to acquire or retain power and strength and uses lies and deceit to obtain it. He was waiting at an airbase in the U.S. when he was notified of Megatrons and the Alspark being found. He is one of the only remaining Decepticon survivors and flies off into space at the end of the first film. He was most likely on the way to recruit more Decepticons to continue the fight on earth.

Barricade – black 2008 Saleen S281 Extreme Mustang


Barricade has always been very loyal to Megatron and when Starscream became the active leader he was not to excited. But he is still willing to give Starscream the benefit of the doubt and follow where he leads. Barricade is also very hateful toward Autobots and would like nothing more than to kill all Autobots. Barricade may not be as big as most Transformers but he is every bit as deadly. He’s smart enough to let one live if he thinks he or the Decepticons can use it to their advantage, but most of the time they are dead before a plan comes up. In a sense Barricade seems to be one of the most tactical of the Decepticons.

Wheels - blue Toy Size RC Jeep (alt mode unconfirmed)


Another newcomer to the movie is Wheels. Wheels is probably the smallest Transformer, he is in the shape of an RC monster truck.His role is still yet to be announced but I would assume he is going to be like an Autobot version of Frenzy.

Scorponok – metallic scorpion


Scorponok has a machine form of a mechanized scorpion. Scorponok is the only Transformer who didn’t transform, but he is able to dive under sand or other soft landforms. Skorponok was another of the only survivors in the original film. Rumor has it that he will be reviving Megatron with a piece of the Alspark.

The name is as implied, the character is unknown, all that is known is that it is involved in a chase seen at the beginning of the movie and is a Decepticon. We will update as soon as possible!

Constructicons/ Devistator – Earth Mover unknown type (rumor) no official image

Not much is known about the Constructicons in the movie yet but it leaves you to wonder, in the original series the constucticons formed to make Devistator, why would there only be one? So judging on that I would think there are more of these guys.

Soundwave – alt mode unknown no official image


Soundwave is one of Megatron’s most trustworthy soldiers and has obtained a position of power in Meagtrons army. Even though he is only a Communications Officer, he stands at a similar rank to Starscream seems to be loyal to Megatron to the end. He is not particularly popular among the Decepticons but still remains in Megatrons good graces. This is only a background of Soundwave from the old G1 nothing official but hopefully we will have some info confirming his participation in the movie!

Megatron – Cybertronian Tank

Megatron is the brother of Optimus Prime and the leader of the Decepticons. Megatron is ruthless and extremely powerful. He has only one goal in mind and that is to have the All spark at any cost and then lead a mass genocide of the Autobots. He was found frozen in a cavern by Sam’s great grandfather. And was later killed by Sam putting the All Spark in his chest. It is rumored that Megatron will be making a return in the second film, but it may just set the stage for the third film. I would think if Unicron is involved in any way then Megatron may come back as Galavtron similar to the old 80s film.

Update: It looks like Megatron will be returning closer to the end of the next film but this time as a tank. Could he be revived as Galavtron?

Humans (Main)

Shia LaBeouf - Sam Witwicky


Sam is the lead protagonist in Transformers and started his adventures when he unknowingly buys Bumblebee as his first car. Sam Witwicky is based on the mechanic Spike from the 80′s cartoon, but the nickname was considered inappropriate because the character’s profession was dropped from the adaptation. Michael Bay wanted Sam to be a normal kid and not geeky in specific. Sam is an incredible aid to the Autobots in both the old show and the new films.

Megan Fox – Mikaela Banes


Mikaela is Sams love interest whom was not in the original cartoon and is one of the many characters made for the film. Mikaela is very mechanically skilled mostly because her father was a car thief and thus very skilled with them. It seems like her and Sam have some relationship issues in the next film.

Josh Duhamel – Captain Lennox


Army Captain William Lennox was a part of a seven man special ops team in Qatar and was one of the only survivors of Blackouts attack on the base. He and his team ran into Scorpinok where they were decimated by the Decepticon. Toward the end of the first film Lennox took charge and led the humans strike on the Decepticons. Lennox has a wife and newborn child. Lennox starts the next movie in the opening seen as him Epps and Graham are chasing an Audi R8.

Tyrese Gibson - Tech Sergeant Epps


Robert Epps was a part of Captain Lennox’s special ops team and was involved in blackout and Scorpinoks attacks. Epps also contributed a lot to the final fight and helped Lennox take down Blackout. Epps also begins the next movie with Lennox and Grahm chasing the Audi R8.

Jon Voight – John Keller & John Turturro – Agent Simmons

John Keller is The Secretary of Defense who was in charge of finding out who was responsible for the attack on Qatar in the first Transformers film. Agent Simmons is a member of Sector 7 and unknown organization involved with protecting national security.

*Update*

It turns out that John Keller will not be in the new film. No specific reason is given but maybe the in depth government involvement in the film is not as necessary this time around since they know what is going on now.

Ramon Rodriguez - Leo

Leo seems to be a character who will get between Sam and Mikaela . Not much else is known thus far.

Matthew Marsden – SAS Graham

Graham is a British SAS that’s known to be helping Captain Lennox’s team in the beginning of the next film as they chase a Decepticon Audi R8.

Update: Thanks to Michael Bay it looks like Graham will be a large part of the movie and important member to Lennox’s team. Also good news!

Isabel Lucas - Alice


Alice seems to be another character who will get between Mikaela and Sam. A few set images show her getting out of Bumblebee and talking to Sam through the window.

Humans (Supporting)

Kevin Dunn – Ron Witwicky


Ron Witwicky AKA Sparkplug from the old show is Sams Father. He didn’t have a huge role in the previous film and might not in this one either. But we know he will be at Sams school in Pennsylvania.

Julie White – Judy Witwicky


She is Sams kooky mother. She doesn’t seem to have a huge role in this film either.

Rainn Wilson – College Professor


Rainn Wilson will have a cameo appearance as one of Sams college professors. This should be good for a few laughs.

*UPDATE* It seems like Wilson will be playing Sams Astronomy teacher in the film.

Nina Dobrev – College Student (rumor)


Dobrev is rumored to be one of the students attending Sams College.

Lester “BeetleJuice” Green- Unknown (rumor)

BeetleJuice was recently seen on the Princeton set and it is rumored that he would be in Transformers 2. A casting sheet asked for a little person, any ethnicity from ages 30-65. Nothing yet is confirmed to whether he would even be in the film let alone what role he’d play.
